Curriculum
Module 1 · 30 min
What coaching actually is, the responsibilities you have for the rider and horse and where the limits of your competence lie.
Module 2 · 40 min
Hazard versus risk, dynamic risk assessment, safe positioning, and knowing when to change or stop an exercise.
Module 3 · 55 min
The core coaching skill: reading position, balance, stability and effectiveness — and finding the cause rather than the symptom.
Module 4 · 40 min
Coaching two athletes at once: reading the horse, reading the horse and rider combination, and identifying the underlying cause of any issues.
Module 5 · 45 min
The methods themselves: explanation, demonstration, observation, questioning, guided discovery, feedback, practice and reflection.
Module 6 · 45 min
The Assess → Goal → Plan → Coach → Adapt → Review cycle, and an interactive lesson-plan builder you can save.
Module 7 · 45 min
The plan is a guide, not a script. Branching scenarios covering nerves, tension, fatigue, confusion and the unexpected.
Module 8 · 35 min
Sixteen mistakes almost every new coach makes, why each one matters, and the better approach.
Module 9 · 30 min
Reflective practice: what happened, why, what you would change, and what happens next — plus a reflection form you can save.
Module 10 · 40 min
A full horse-and-rider case study: risk, assessment, priority, objective, exercise, communication, adaptation and review.
